This brief guide will help you get the most out of Rainbow-Traffic right from the start.

The purpose of this guide is to get you familiar with the general functionality of this exchange so that you can navigate through all the features with ease. Our goal is NOT to give you all the details of every aspect of Rainbow-Traffic, because we have placed all this additional information throughout the website where you will need it the most.

The first thing I recommend doing is reading the latest blog post, and getting up to date with what type of stuff we're working on for the site.  We're changing things almost daily based on your feedback and will post these updates once a week or so as time permits, so be sure to share your thoughts! 

And now ... let's get started using the system!

Step 1:

You need to surf 10 sites to fully activate your account, and receives your 100 join credits.

If you have not used a traffic exchange before. Surfing is a term for viewing our members websites. Once the timer has counted down you can click the matching image or if you choose the hover mode, just mouse over the image to view the next website.  You will receive credits for each page you view which differ depending on your membership level. These credits are then use at a rate of 1 per view when a member views your site.

Note: Free Members will be required to surf at least 25 sites every 30 days or your sites, banners and hotlinks will be paused.  Upgraded Members are not affected by this, but it would be nice if you did surf the 25. 

Step 2:

Go to Manage Websites in the left hand menu of your member area, and add the websites you wish to promote.  

Note: You MUST have at least one website rotating to remain active

Tip: If you are building up your credits, then add more sites even if you repeat the same ones. Building up credits does not help you promote, you sites need to be seen.

Step 3:

Go to Manage Banners in the left hand menu of your member area, and add your banners for rotation, these banners will be seen on the surfing bar whilst members surf, banners should be 468 x 60 otherwise they will be remove at the approval stage. Any banners that do not get approved are normally the wrong size or no image is displaying so please make sure you have the details correct before submitting.  

Note: These banners do not use any of your credits and will be active as long as you stay active and  have credits available.

Step 4:

Go to Manage Links in the left hand menu of your member area, and add your text link, these are text adverts that appear on the surf bar whilst the timer is counting down. Try to use short and catchy slogans.

How to Earn Extra Credits

In your member area you will see a banner advert around 2/3 of the way down, You will receive 10 credits per 30 second visit.  You will only be able to view each advert once a day.  You can keep going until you reach the end of all the adverts that are there.  You can pay for your ad to be there if you wish.  Just go to the Advertising Option section and look for the Featured Site Advertising.

You can also win extra credits by regularly surfing as we run Daily, Weekly and Monthly Surfing Contests and also don't surf too fast and keep an eye out for the prizes whilst you surf, when you see a YOU ARE A WINNER page click on the link to claim the prize. The prize will automatically be added to your account as you continue to surf. Note: You can check the live stats to see if your in the running by going to the Surfing Contest section in the members area. All winners of the Surfing Contests will also be announced in the main mamber area under Top Surfer Awards table.

Plus the more you surf the higher your surf ratio will get, every 50 sites your surf your ratio goes up by 5%, plus you can get 10% extra credits the next day by surfing 100 sites the day before, this goes up 10% for every 100 sites you surf (up to a 50% increase)

The final way to get extra credits is by referrals. We have several promotional tools you can use to promote Rainbow-Traffic.com. Under the Promotional Tools section, you will find banners and splash pages. The Custom Splash Page is provided so that you can upload your picture and add your own program banner as well as make some personal testimony if you like. The Widget is another easy way to promote Rainbow-Traffic.com as well as promote your own programs/websites at the same time.
